In short: Białka Tatrzańska has three neighbouring ski stations: Kotelnica Białczańska, Kaniówka and Bania. Together they carry around 26,000 people an hour, and the slopes are snowmade and floodlit. From Willa pod Smrekiem it is 800 metres to the nearest lift and about 1.1 km to Kotelnica.
It is eight in the morning. Down at the slope car park drivers circle in search of a space, while you stroll along the pavement with your skis on your shoulder and ten minutes later you are clicking into your bindings. That is what a ski morning looks like when you stay in the middle of Białka instead of driving in from Zakopane.
For years Białka Tatrzańska has been one of the most popular ski destinations in Poland. The reason is simple: three neighbouring resorts sit in a small area and together form one large ski terrain with views of the Tatras.
Three stations, one ski area
Kotelnica Białczańska
The biggest and best-known station in Białka. Kotelnica alone has a capacity of about 19,770 people per hour, so chairlifts and gondolas rarely stand empty and queues move quickly. You will find gentle, wide runs for beginners and families, as well as longer, steeper descents for those who like speed. Next to Kotelnica there is a ski school and a snowpark with obstacles at different levels of difficulty.

Kaniówka
The second station in Białka, right next to Kotelnica. Good for warming up and for families with children who prefer calmer runs. When the main runs get busier in the middle of the day, it is worth dropping in here.
Bania
Slopes next to the Terma Bania complex. Convenient, because after your last run the thermal pools are only a few steps away. Around the Bania lift there are also smaller drag lifts, good for learning.
According to figures quoted by National Geographic Polska, skiers in Białka have around 14 km of runs at their disposal. All three resorts make snow and light their slopes after dark, so the season is long and you can ski in the evening too.
How to plan a day on the slopes
- Be there at opening time. The first hour has the best snow and the shortest queues. If you can walk to the lifts, you gain the time that others lose on driving and parking.
- Have lunch earlier or later. Between 12:00 and 13:30 the restaurants by the slope are bursting at the seams. From Willa pod Smrekiem you can come back for a lunch cooked in the shared kitchen and rest for an hour.
- Save some energy for the evening. Floodlit runs after dark are usually less crowded than at noon.
- End the day in the thermal baths. Warm water after skiing relaxes your muscles better than any pharmacy gel.
Lift passes: Białka and Tatry Super Ski
You can buy lift passes at the ticket offices of the individual resorts and online. If you plan several days in different places, check out Tatry Super Ski: one pass works in 19 resorts in Poland and Slovakia, and the Ski + Pools option combines skiing with entry to thermal pools. Always check current prices and rules before you travel, as they change every season.
When you want to change slopes
After a few days in Białka it is worth seeing something new. A short drive away you will find, among others, the resort in Jurgów (about 8 km) and Czarna Góra (about 12 km). In Slovakia, within reach of the Tatry Super Ski pass, further resorts await.

Accommodation close to the slope: what to look for
- Walking distance to the lift. From Willa pod Smrekiem: 800 m to the Andrzej Kuruc lift, about 1.1 km to Kotelnica I, 1.2 km to Kotelnica Express, 1.3 km to the Bania lift.
- Parking at the property. Your car stays in our free car park for the whole stay.
- A kitchen. Breakfast before skiing and a hot dinner without hunting for a restaurant table.
- Somewhere to rest. After skiing, a gym for stretching, and a playroom for the children.
